The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
Responsibilities
Focus on achieving annual cost savings through commercial leverage, design efficiencies, and supply chain improvements.
Comprehensive driver/passenger seat delivery management, management of cost, quality, and material efficiencies throughout the program lifecycle for Ford's vehicle programs.
Collaborate with strategic Category Management, Product Development and other cross‑functional teams to understand the Seat Assembly supply base, financial health, and technological trends, while also maximizing the quality integration of tier 2 components into final seat assembly.
What You’ll Do
Analyzing market supply/demand, conducting design reviews for cost reduction, and leading sourcing execution activities such as RFx events, tactical sourcing, and contract administration.
Implement sourcing strategies that align with Ford's capacity, cost, timing, and ESG objectives, and will manage relationships with Just‑In‑Time (JIT) suppliers.
This position demands a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret organizational needs and commercial strategies to develop material cost roadmaps that support corporate objectives and long‑term viability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
3+ years of strategic buying experience, coupled with proficiency in purchasing systems and procedures.
Must demonstrate high energy, a commitment to continuous learning and development to achieve commodity expertise, and the ability to influence senior executives to facilitate decision‑making.
Strong negotiation skills are essential, including the capacity to develop and execute negotiation strategies and create leverage in various situations.
The ability to interpret organizational needs and commercial strategies as input for global Category Strategies is also required.

Strong analytical capabilities, emphasizing a data‑driven approach to analyze multiple potential scenarios and business plans.
Be a creative thinker and problem‑solver, self‑motivated, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
