FLSA: Non‑Exempt. Department: Mia Italian Express. General Function: As an Assistant Mia Italian Express Manager, the position will manage the department in the absence of the manager. The role provides customer service, orders product, determines pricing, and upholds a positive company image by offering courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members. Accountable to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Manager of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Director; Mia Italian Department Manager. Positions that report to you: Mia Italian Express Clerks. Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store. Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store. Make an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible. Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience. Answer telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call, including taking product orders. Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Check orders for the day and set up a timeline and production schedule. Review the status and appearance of product for freshness and pull by stale date. Review daily production list with department employees and assign tasks for completion. Ensure department standards are met. Ensure display case product is rotated and replenished. Assist with the training, supervising, and scheduling of employees. Handle and satisfy customer issues. Order supplies and products, determine pricing, post invoices, and check for accuracy. Prepare food, stock cases, and refill pop dispensers. Promote weekly sales/specials with intercom. Attend department meetings. Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and neat, maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines. Report to work when scheduled and on time. Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

Assume management duties in the absence of Department Manager. Assist with inventory. Unload trucks and ensure product is stored properly. Make shelf signs and tags. Assist in other areas of store as needed. Perform other job related duties and special projects as required. Supervisory Responsibilities

Instruct, assign, review, and plan work of others. Maintain standards, coordinate activities, and allocate personnel. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Worker Characteristics

Ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions. Arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; guide people and provide basic direction. Education And Experience

High school or equivalent experience. Physical Requirements

Physically able to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, field of vision, depth perception, and color. Perform activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working Conditions

Exposed to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, vibrations, equipment movement hazard, chemicals/solvents, and potential electric shock daily. Fast‑paced work environment with significant pressure to meet deadlines. Equipment Used To Perform Job
