Position Summary The MRI Technologist performs routine and specialized MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality imaging. This role requires adherence to established standards of care, MRI safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines. The technologist will collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine and select advanced MRI imaging procedures Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures clearly Operate, maintain, and care for MRI equipment Assist radiologists as needed during imaging procedures Ensure compliance with MRI safety standards and infection control policies Provide high-quality patient care and customer service Participate in quality assurance activities Maintain continuing education and professional competencies Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program NYS Radiologic Technologist License required ARRT Certification required ARMRIT accepted with requirement to obtain ARRT MR certification within 1 year of hire BLS Certification (AHA) required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire MRI Safety Certification Level 2 (required annually) Flu Vaccination Required – No Exemptions Must meet continuing education requirements (24 CE credits every 2 years, per governing standards)
Preferred Qualifications IV Certification (or completion within 6 months of orientation) Prior MRI experience in a clinical or hospital setting
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $49.92 – $60.32/hour for FTE/Perm (based on experience) Hourly Rate: $48.90 – $73.00 for Part-Time (based on experience) Sign-On Bonus Benefits: Full suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision Retirement: Employer-sponsored retirement plan Paid Time Off & Holidays
