Physical Therapist – Physical Therapy Outpatient
Location: MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, OH.
Biweekly Hours: 60.00.
Shift: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (three ten‑hour shifts, variable days).
Primary Patient Population: Lymphedema patients.
Primary Skills Utilized/learned
Evaluates and treats patients using physical measures and therapeutic exercises to prevent, correct, or alleviate disabilities.
Patients may include neonates through the geriatric population.
Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or post‑graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from an APTA‑accredited school.
Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio.
Current BLS certification, or obtains within 90 days of hire.
Ability to travel to satellite locations.
Preferred Qualifications
Membership in the APTA.
Certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT).
Physical Requirements
Walk without assistive device; maintain balance during ambulation/gait training.
Lift and reach with arms to assist a patient during exercise.
Manual dexterity and tactile sensation for palpating muscle tension and monitoring patient pulse.
Visual acuity to observe patient movement and gait.
Speak clearly to instruct patients and families; hear or understand patient description of symptoms.
Frequently (25–75%) perform standing, sitting, walking, reaching, crouching, balancing, lifting 5–25 lbs, carrying 5–10 lbs, and pushing up to 75 lbs.
Occasionally (5–25%) perform stooping, climbing, lifting 24–50 lbs, carrying 10–25 lbs, and operating power tools and machinery.
