Duties and Responsibilities Oversees a team of Staff Development Specialists supporting the Family Economic Independence (FEI) Adult Medicaid Program. Plans short and long‑range work operations, priorities, and goals within the unit to support income‑maintenance objectives. Coordinates work assignments of personnel to ensure program services are adequately reviewed for performance and training needs are met; determines best practices to help programs meet state and federal guidelines; meets monthly with each Specialist to review plans and provide direction and guidance; ensures adequate coverage; coaches, trains, and develops staff; conducts performance appraisals. Reviews case‑review results and reports findings to management; reviews rebuttals related to quality control and facilitates resolution; assists the team in creating tracking tools and processes to address identified needs; recommends system changes; provides support and leadership in developing training skills across QA and training units.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Works closely with FEI leadership to establish and maintain partnerships that facilitate improvement in program performance.
Serves as the program and training specialist, providing resource and advisory support to Staff Development Specialists, Program Managers and Assistant Directors.
Plans and facilitates FEI program and soft‑skills training sessions.
Identifies and implements methods to streamline QA unit productivity to ensure compliance with State, Federal, and local policies and procedures while meeting deadlines.
Possesses strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, time‑management and organizational skills.
Effectively works with a diverse population.
Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft applications preferred.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and three (3) years of experience in human services or income maintenance, including at least one year of experience in staff and/or curriculum development and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
Experience as a trainer, staff development specialist, curriculum developer, or training administrator.
Supervisory experience.
