Position Overview The Project/Submittal Engineer is responsible for interpreting project specifications and generating all technical documentation required for assigned projects. Responsibilities include process/performance design validation, specifying and sourcing buy-out components, guiding drafting teams in creating submittal drawing packages, and producing P&IDs, PFDs, Bills of Material, and O&M manuals. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and break down project specifications for accurate execution.
Specify buy-out components, solicit bids/data from suppliers, and assess procurement options.
Guide drafting teams in creating submittal drawings and models.
Generate detailed project Bills of Material (BOMs).
Track project milestones and ensure on-schedule completion.
Identify and mitigate potential schedule or cost overruns.
Recommend cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
Address performance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Create and manage Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Participate in client calls when required.
Resolve technical challenges and propose solutions.
Monitor project deliverables and ensure timely completion.
Manage and document client change requests.
Ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
Utilize business systems and project management tools as directed.
Provide status updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
Experience in air pollution control, environmental systems, or related industries (preferred).
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with business/project management systems.
