As an AV Fleet Service Technician, you will be responsible for the triage, proactive monitoring, and comprehensive operational support of our diverse vehicle fleets deployed across Core Market, Market Entry, and specialized Weather testing environments. Your contributions will be instrumental in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues swiftly, minimizing downtime, and maximizing data collection from our test vehicles.

Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric vehicles.
Inspect and set up vehicles for autonomous fleet operation and testing.
Collaborate with AutoNation and Waymo associates, improving processes and expediting workflow.
Document repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
Execute high-quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.
Conduct multi-point inspections and system checks, recommending actions to ensure safety and reliability.
Guide the technician team and communicate effectively with Associates regarding service and parts needs.
Perform all repairs according to work instructions and document results.
Operate all equipment in the Service Center safely, following AutoNation’s Safety Standards and PPE requirements.
Inspect and test all completed work as a Quality Control measure.
Maintain an inventory of technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service Department.
Stay updated on technical information and participate in offered training classes.
Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations affecting Service Center operations.
Acquire superior product knowledge to provide high-quality repairs.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three or more years of automotive experience.
ASE certifications preferred.
OEM certification a plus.
Electric vehicle experience, a plus.
Hybrid or EV training and experience a plus.
Automotive technical training.
Own the required tools.
Valid, in‑state driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Ability to operate an automobile.
Openness to work weekends.
