Responsibilities
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and or transport our products, as our highest priority.
Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment at prescribed intervals.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems. Consult directly with vendors on problems for resolution, if necessary.
Maintain, update, report, requisition, and document the Electrical department records and resources to assure availability and dependability of equipment, tools, spare parts, outside repairs, specifications, equipment history, vendor resources, and library resources.
Write notifications on findings.
Provide technical assistance to production and engineering groups on application of new and modification of electrical equipment.
Utilize SAP for spares, history and scheduling. Be able to write, plan, schedule, execute and close work orders. Help maintain and update electronic files and hardcopy instrument files.
Continuously improve by staying informed and educated on current safety, technical, and quality practices.
Keep shop, tools and work area organized and clean. Maintain prints and files in proper place.
Qualifications Education Required
High School Diploma or GED
Must have Journeyman’s License
Five plus years electrical maintenance experience working in manufacturing environment OR three years plus maintenance experience in manufacturing environment with completion of an accredited electrical training program.
Safety and Physical Requirements
High level of safety and environmental awareness
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read/comprehend detailed written instructions
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code
Must be proficient in troubleshooting 120 volt AC controls, 480V, 2400 v, 13.8 KV switchgear
Working knowledge of motor repair, inspection and troubleshooting motor control systems
Working knowledge of the inspection and maintenance and troubleshooting of distribution and power transformers
Must be proficient in troubleshooting using loop drawing, schematics, ladder logic, and P&I drawings
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be willing to work overtime to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation
Knowledgeable with computers.
Ability to read, write and speak in English
Must have a valid driver’s license
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
