Base Pay Range $75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Additional Compensation Types Annual Bonus
The ideal candidate will use their passion for big data and analytics to provide insights to the business covering a range of topics. They will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analysis for business users.
Responsibilities
Support initiatives related to workflow optimization, underwriting authority, and underwriting governance
Develop reporting of and track key metrics such as submission volume and quality, pipeline development, conversion rate, new business production, renewal retention, and loss results
Ensure consistency across data sources used for underwriting performance, appetite decisions, and risk evaluation.
Partner with actuarial and data science teams to interpret and operationalize predictive models for underwriting workflows.
Support the Field and Complex Account underwriting teams develop and track operational KPIs and SLAs at an underwriter and team level
Analyze underwriting performance to identify growth drivers and opportunities for operational improvement
Evaluate the impact of workflow improvements, appetite shifts, and other strategic changes
Build and maintain executive, manager, and underwriter dashboards that reflect underwriter production and efficiency and promotes transparency of results
Support annual premium planning and annual objective development
Provide data calls as necessary to comply with regulatory or capacity partner requests
Support regulatory or capacity partner audit requests
Prepare and present KPIs for capacity partner reporting related to underwriting results and operational targets
Collaborate with Information Technology counterparts in creating and maintaining consistent data sources
Ensure consistent metric definitions across business units working closely with Finance, Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Risk Management, Sales & Distribution, and Portfolio Management
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of insurance experience preferably in the personal lines marketplace and/or in roles working directly with underwriters or product managers.
Experience in working with large data sets with strong SQL skills and proficiency with analytics tools such as Python, R, SAS, or similar.
Experience building dashboards in visualization platforms with preference for Power BI skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, or related fields is preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially when working with complex datasets.
