Summary VELOX is looking for an analytical, results-driven backend developer to develop new digital marketing tools for new and existing clients. The developer will analyze our current code and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. This position focuses on developing user-friendly tools that increase client happiness across digital marketing initiatives and improve internal processes. You will participate in strategy discussions to yield more conversions for our clients and help set scaling points, requiring deep knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Ads, and organic search.
The perfect candidate must have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for marketing and technology, and a track record of quickly learning and applying new development solutions.

Backend Developer Responsibilities
Compile and analyze data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with front‑end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design cohesive, functional code to enhance user experience.
Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
Record and report data to appropriate parties, such as clients or leadership.
Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices and emerging programming languages.
Lead projects as needed.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field.
Expertise in at least one of JavaScript, TypeScript, Laravel PHP, object‑oriented principles, web lifecycle, and software development best practices.
Experience in database development using MySQL or SQL.
Experience in source control management (preferably Git).
SEO and digital marketing knowledge.
Working knowledge of APIs, preferably Google Analytics and Google Ads.
E‑commerce platform knowledge (WP/WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce).
Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement.
Excellent project and time‑management skills.
Strong problem‑solving and verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to work independently or with a group.
Preferred Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience in web development (education and experience may be combined).
Experience in cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud.
Experience with marketing tools, preferably Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center, and Google Tag Manager.
Ability to implement accessibility and WCAG standards.
