Field Preventative Maintenance Technician Apprentice - March 2026 Start
Blanchard Machinery is looking for an apprentice to perform field service inspections and prevent maintenance based on customer service agreements. The role will include on‑job training, classroom instruction, and e‑learning to keep skills current.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive oil, filter, and lubrication services, including checking and filling fluid levels to OEM specifications and refueling as requested by the customer.
Inspect equipment for external signs of potential component failure.
Inspect and report any inoperable safety devices or conditions.
Maintain detailed lube records for all work performed.
Ensure safe completion of all job responsibilities and promote a safe environment.
Attend all technical classes and complete apprenticeship assessments.
Engage in academic and practical assessments to demonstrate skill development.
Other duties as assigned.
Program Structure
Start: March 2026
Duration: Approx. 6 months
Academic: 1 week in class, 3 weeks in shop
Outcome: Entry‑level technician role

Performance Expectations
Successful completion of technical apprenticeship requirements.
Effective application of learned skills during the program.
Adherence to all program requirements and standards set by Blanchard Machinery.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pass the Blanchard Machinery Criteria Assessment Tool.
Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance service manuals preferred.
Working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
Ability to operate lifting devices.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment.
Familiarity with electronic cables, connections, and sensors.
Commitment to accuracy, organization, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Previous experience on CAT equipment is a plus.
Meet Company Driver Qualifications policy.
Maintain a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
Work both indoors (non‑climate controlled) and outdoors in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Use personal protective equipment to prevent injury or hazardous material exposure.
Require standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
Use a variety of tools and machines to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
Must be able to lift varied weight.
Ability to see, read, and write to complete job responsibilities.
Use computers and other technology to complete job responsibilities.
