We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Owner's Rep team in Abilene, TX with Data Center experience.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of assigned responsibilities on construction projects, including project setup with budget and schedule creation and oversight.

RFP development, pre-bid planning, oversight, and coordination.

Assist team in facilitating design and construction phases.

Coordinate contractors, including traditional and design-build contractors.

Oversee physical construction activities on site.

Lead commissioning of critical systems integration across new customer builds and existing data centers.

Handoff of physical data center and project documents to customer and operations.

Manage contractor safety performance.

Coordinate OFCI equipment logistics and planning.

Manage project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholders, data center work rules, and budget.

Drive all aspects of construction including pre-construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bid process, team selection, construction oversight, commissioning, and closeout.

Act as project leader, driving coordination and integration of internal customers within the project.

Manage General Contractors and vendors resources for assigned construction projects.

Report to assigned project team and manager.

Assist with portfolio execution on projects from concept through commissioning and prepare various reports monthly and/or quarterly.

Drive day-to-day construction decisions to conclusion.

QA/QC work of assigned projects to confirm accuracy.

Ensure new data center spaces follow all applicable client requirements with internal team inputs.

Establish and track project budgets and submit approval packages to the approval group.

Partner with Base Building Director(s) and Finance to produce monthly project forecasts, variance analyses, and execution of MSAs and contractor/vendor authorizations for new and existing contractors.

Vendor/Contractor management including qualification and relationship maintenance.

Review monthly billing with team, substantiate, and audit against budget.

Capture and apply lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Ensure project turnover documentation aligns with Operations requirements.

Collaborate with Operations to coordinate design criteria and construction with ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a similar field.

2+ years of project management experience required; 3-5 years preferred.

Sophisticated and technical construction experience required.

Data Center and General Contractor experience preferred.

Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6.

Knowledge of Procore software preferred.

Travel may be required and could grow, but will be assessed by the project team.

Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions.
