Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Process guest purchases/return transactions using the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system; handle changes, bag merchandise, provide receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates.
Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; maintain records in HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.
Schedule store associates and manage staffing to ensure excellent guest service; supervise in the Store Manager\'s absence.
Approve payroll and manage paid time off; verify time worked.
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is functioning.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages and convey concerns to the Store Manager.
Support achieving sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize stock to ensure representation and accessibility on the sales floor.
Balance daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines.
Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct counts and report discrepancies to the Store/ District Manager.
Process defectives/ recalls and stock pulls; ensure packaging and packing lists are correct.
Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines.
Assist in maintaining store records; help keep manuals up to date.
Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager\'s absence.
Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\u2019s or bachelor\u2019s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
Handle pressure and adapt to stressful situations; be a problem solver.
Reliable and trustworthy; exercise good judgment.
Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle basic physical tasks.
Onboarding knowledge of military ranks/insignia (where applicable).
Pay: $19.88 - $23.88
