The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is currently looking civilian full-time Simulator/Academic Instructor-Pilot Instructor, GS-2181-12 located at 12th Training Squadron (12 TRS), Randolph AFB, San Antonio, TX. Retention Incentive – 10% of yearly salary based on eligibility. Responsibilities

In this position, you will serve as an aircraft simulator and academic instructor for students enrolled in the United States Air Force (UFT)/Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) program. You will instruct and evaluate pilots, maintain simulator efficacy, and support curriculum development. Qualifications

Must be a U.S. civilian. Experience as a rated military aviator (pilot) is critical; prior instructor experience in a military aircraft is highly desirable. Knowledge of aircraft systems, operating procedures, aerodynamics, flying fundamentals, aircraft instrumentation, ground and flight emergency procedures, and both instrument and visual flight rules. Knowledge of training aircraft operations, simulator characteristics, and limitations. Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional techniques, and training resources. Skill in using computer applications and simulator software to meet learning objectives. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, including classroom instruction to varying audience sizes. Minimum flight hour requirements:

1500 total flight hours 250 pilot-in-command hours 75 night flying hours 75 instrument flying hours (at least 10 in actual instrument conditions) 500 instructor time flight hours (fixed wing)
