Front Desk Agent – Driftwood Hospitality Management
Position Type: Full Time
Shift: Any
Location: 545 - Tysons Corner Westin – Falls Church, VA 22043.
Job Summary Greets and registers guests, provides prompt and courteous service, and closes out guest accounts upon completion of stay, ensuring the guest has an exceptional stay to meet hotel’s high standards of quality.
Essential Job Functions
Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.
Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate, selecting rooms based on guest needs and coding electronic keys, certificates, and coupons as appropriate.
Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods and handle cash, making change and balancing the house bank.
Accept and record vouchers, travelers’ checks, and other forms of payment, performing accurate arithmetic using a calculator and posting charges to guest rooms and house accounts.
Promptly answer the telephone using a positive and clear communication style, input messages and retrieve them to convey content to guests and deliver mail, small packages and facsimiles as requested.
Close guest accounts at check‑out, ensuring guest satisfaction and resolving any issues within established guidelines.
Field guest complaints, researching and developing effective solutions for location changes, credit issues, price conflicts, or service problems while remaining calm during emergencies.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and security rules, fire prevention protocols, and use protective equipment.
Maintain a neat, clean and well‑groomed appearance as outlined in the team member handbook.
Assist other Front Desk Personnel when needed and perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; education and experience combination may be considered.
Prior hospitality experience preferred but not required.
Ability to perform moderately complex arithmetic using a calculator without error.
Strong customer service skills, patience, tact and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.
Effective communication in English, verbal and written.
Proficiency with moderately complex computer systems for data entry.
Adequate hearing and vision to detect emergency situations.
Physical Demands
Stand and move throughout front office during 95% of shift.
Lift up to 25 pounds.
Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, walking, frequent talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
