AutoZone’s Store Management team drives store performance, fosters a productive team, and ensures exceptional customer service. Managers and MITs lead by example, delivering WOW! Customer Service while executing store operations with excellence. The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a transitional role designed to prepare you for promotion into a Retail Store Management position, with hands-on assignments and structured learning opportunities. Within 8-12 weeks, you could progress into management—depending on your prior experience and performance. Responsibilities
Leadership Development
– Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and cultivate a high-performing, engaged store team. Communication Excellence
– Maintain clear and effective communication with employees and customers to drive store execution and performance. Metrics Mindedness
– Learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to optimize store profitability. Structure & Process Orientation
– Support store operations, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold structured training processes. Teamwork & Training
– Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees to develop a strong, successful team. Customer Service Leadership
– Take charge of customer service activities, ensuring outstanding experiences and resolving concerns proactively. Inventory & Sales Management
– Oversee inventory accuracy, store merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success. Operations Training
– Complete management skills training, learning key aspects of store operations and AutoZone culture. MITs must demonstrate consistent progression throughout the training program to be considered for management openings. Promotion is performance-based and subject to management availability. What We’re Looking For
Minimum 1 Year: 1-2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor. Flexible Schedule: Full-time flexible schedule availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. You’ll Go The Extra Mile If You Have
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Exceptional Communication: Strong people skills and effective communication in both Spanish and English. Automotive Retail: Previous experience in automotive retail or analyzing company financials (e.g., Profit & Loss statements) is a plus. About Us
