Responsibilities:
Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the site’s instructional guidelines
Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate students’ progress
Present proper demonstrations, explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices
Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment
Attend all in‑service trainings
Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates
Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught at all levels
Effectively communicate each student’s progress to the student or to the student’s parents, where appropriate
Project and promote a professional image
Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons
Other tasks as assigned
Ideal Candidate will have:
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain them at the time of hire
Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain it at the time of hire
Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred but not required
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Compensation: $15.00–$20.00 per hour (rates vary by locality and experience). Full‑time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Part‑time employees may be eligible for selected benefits.
