Utility Associate- 2nd and 3rd Shift

Positions available for the 2nd and 3rd shift in our Feed Mill. Shift times: 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 1:00pm-9:00pm; 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00pm-5:00am. Pay: $18.70 per hour with day‑one benefits and on‑the‑job training.
Primary Function The Feed Mill Utility Associate performs housekeeping, cleaning, and tasks associated with ensuring the work area is safe, secure, presentable, and operational. The position also processes visitors, vendors, and manages traffic flow and truck deliveries, assists with receiving feed ingredients, and supports emergency situations as requested.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Follow daily housekeeping procedures and conduct grounds maintenance in the Feed Mill.
Control access of staff, visitors, and trucks entering the property; verify credentials and obtain appropriate approvals.
Review and log inspection paperwork for incoming and outgoing trucks, direct traffic, and coordinate routes based on cargo.
Maintain animal food safety and personal hygiene practices.
Perform work in compliance with company policies, animal welfare guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws.
Notify supervisor when a suspected Quality or Food Safety event occurs.
Perform daily cleaning of the Feed Mill facilities and grounds.
Inspect and record equipment during off‑peak hours to ensure proper operation.
Report any discrepancies with logs, trucks, etc., to appropriate personnel.
Follow all safety protocols, wearing required PPE in mandatory areas.
Assist with emergency protocols as needed.
Aid in receiving feed ingredients when required.
Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory duties.
Education and Certifications
High School diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
Valid driver’s license and meet MVR requirements.
Experience and Skills
Completes required logs and forms accurately.
Communicates verbally and in writing with all organizational levels; strong attention to detail and efficient problem solving.
Works nights, weekends, holidays, irregular, and extended shift hours.
Follows detailed processes and works with minimal supervision.
Safety Requirements
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
Wear required protective equipment in all mandatory areas (hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, mask, safety vest). Exposure to noise >85 decibels requires hearing protection.
Physical Requirements
Climb a 125‑foot ladder and work at heights of at least 40 feet.
Work non‑standard shifts (holiday, weekend, or extended) as needed.
Stand and move around for extended periods during the shift.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, dry, wet).
Work in dusty and noisy conditions.
Wear required protective equipment (hard hat, eye protection, vest, hearing protection).
Lift 60–100 pounds occasionally.
Work low to the ground and in other awkward, strenuous positions.
