Key Responsibilities

Drive profitable sales growth and manage the sales process for an assigned territory, serving both existing and new Airgas customers.

Sell a range of products, including industrial, medical and specialty gases and equipment, welding products, tools, hardware and safety products.

Travel within the assigned territory to meet with customers.

Cultivate and manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation to close.

Develop and execute sales plans using Airgas’ directives and guidelines to service existing accounts, obtain orders and establish new accounts.

Qualify and pursue sales leads.

Cultivate customer relationships by developing deep knowledge of the customer’s business and establishing a consultative relationship.

Engage customers by linking the customer’s business priorities to the Airgas value proposition.

Prepare sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimating delivery dates based on Airgas’ production/delivery schedules and logistics.

Keep current with industry insights, Airgas product mixes, monitor competition and gather marketplace intelligence.

Partner with internal resources to accomplish growth objectives and maintain clear, consistent communication with internal departments.

Maintain and submit sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analyses) as required by District Manager through SAP.

Actively review and manage existing customer Accounts Receivable balances to minimize Airgas working capital investment and financial risk.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma.

Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with required insurance.

Proficiency with computers and knowledge of Word, Excel, SAP, etc.

Professional presence and demeanor reflective of a corporate office environment.

High energy, self‑starter, strong customer service and relationship orientation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time‑management skills.

Minimum of 3 years of prior outside B2B sales experience with proven solution‑selling success and territory management.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supply and hardware desired.

Proven change‑management skills, including building sponsorship, communications and stakeholder management.

Ability to multi‑task in a high‑volume setting.

Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.

Ability to write routine business reports and correspondence; effectively present information and respond to questions.

Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, industrial gas/welding supplies sales a plus.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary plus commission, monthly auto allowance and mileage reimbursement.
