UC Irvine . What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Provide administrative support for Communications and Development, with secondary responsibilities for the three Assistant/Associate University Librarians. Support planning and producing internal and external library communications, events, exhibits, and other programming. Create and edit digital and print content (web, social media, exhibits, and other promotional materials). Assist with daily office operations, maintain mailing lists, prepare correspondence, and maintain calendars and scheduling meetings. What It Takes to be Successful (Qualifications)

Ability to assist with multiple priorities and assignments at all times and prioritize to complete work in a timely manner. Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; interact diplomatically with public and diverse contingencies including leaders, executives, faculty, administrative personnel, and volunteers. Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to write grammatically correct correspondence and other materials. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software. Professional demeanor and appearance; ability to interact with library donors and the community. Excellent proofreading and detailed task execution with high accuracy; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience producing communications for multiple channels (print, web, video, social media); knowledge of AP Style; experience writing external copy (press releases, blogs, op-eds, newsletters). Ability to adapt to change and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred

Experience with basic publication design and video production principles; tools like Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva. Experience with CMS, HTML, WCAG; knowledge of UC policies; Kauli Financial System (KFS). Experience working in a library and knowledge of library operations. Special Conditions

Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends and early mornings for development events and meetings. Compensation and Benefits

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $29.40-$31.43 (Hourly). Total rewards include medical insurance, leave, retirement savings plans, and other perks. Please refer to the university's compensation practices and benefits. Equal Opportunity
