Overview of Responsibilities As a cashier, you will process orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently, ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service. You will accurately handle cash, credit/debit payments, and change; assist customers with information and complaints; follow all front‑end procedures; stock shelves, face, and dust as needed; maintain knowledge of weekly ad items; guide customers to product locations; and maintain excellent communication with front‑end manager and head cashier. You will keep checkout areas clean and orderly and execute other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1‑2 years of recent cashiering experience.
Show an outgoing, friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
Operate front‑end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Have good communication skills; take direction, constructive criticism, and participate in a team environment.
Perform repetitive activities, multi‑task, prioritize, and stay organized.
Lifting/carrying product horizontally or vertically up to 30 lbs., from 36″ to 24″, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Move grocery carts horizontally with a force up to 35 lbs. for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
Show strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, cash handling, and mathematical skills; read, write, and count.
Pay Range The pay range for this position is $17.05 – $21.25 per hour, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
