Medical/Surgical Nurse - Night Shift
Location: Lee's Summit, Missouri
Assignment Duration: 13‑week contract position
Schedule: Night shift 7 PM – 7 AM
The Medical/Surgical Nurse will be responsible for providing excellent patient care in a 36‑bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts. This role includes utilizing advanced medical equipment such as Dynamap, telemetry, and Alaris IV pumps while ensuring effective documentation using the Meditech system.
Responsibilities
Perform bedside shift reports and hourly safety rounds with patients.
Utilize AIDET and establish personal connections with patients.
Provide care within competencies, floating to ortho or telemetry units as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Time management skills and IV start skills are required.
Patient experience skills are essential.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Basic Dysrhythmia, NIH Stroke Scale Certified.
Advanced skills needed, but procedures requiring conscious sedation are not performed on unit.
