Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA Job Description
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
supports the Physical Therapist in implementing resident‑specific treatment plans.
PTA Responsibilities
Provides direct treatment to patients in accordance with the established plan of care developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Detects signs and symptoms of both favorable and unfavorable reactions to treatment and reports adverse responses immediately to the supervising physical therapist.
Accurately and regularly records all pertinent information regarding the Physical Therapy treatment program; documents the need for skilled service in each record entry.
Consistently performs at the required productivity level, maintaining effective time management according to the daily schedule.
Attends and contributes to patient care plan meetings for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Communicates patient’s response to treatment and progress toward established goals with the supervising physical therapist.
Actively participates in program development and clinical programming, identifying best practices and sharing with the Rehab Team.
Assists patients in achieving critical outcomes while acting as a trusted partner within the community.
