Surgical Certified Veterinary Technician
Join Midwest Veterinary Specialists as a Surgical Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in our Surgery, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, Wisconsin. This role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment with board‑certified surgeons and rehabilitation specialists focused on exceptional patient care and client service.
Responsibilities
Assist with patient evaluations & therapies (history, vitals, medication dispensing, epidural injections, PRP preparations, etc.)
Perform anesthesia duties (drug calculations, IV catheter placement, induction, fluid administration, monitoring) for sedated and anesthetized patients
Assist surgeons during surgery
Conduct diagnostic procedures (x‑ray, laboratory diagnostics, CT, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
Restrain animals for examination and diagnostics
Maintain surgical instruments (cleaning, packing, sterilization, general maintenance)
Carry out physical therapy exercises and modalities under DVM supervision
Provide nursing care and TLC for patients
Maintain accurate medical records
Educate and communicate with clients
Keep a clean and orderly work environment
Qualifications & Experience
Certified Veterinary Technician license
Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience (required)
Previous experience in veterinary surgery desirable but not required
Positive, enthusiastic attitude with strong attention to detail
Team‑oriented communication skills
Self‑motivated, conscientious, and able to multitask
