Role Description
This is a part-time, 20 hour per week on-site role in Holland, MI, for a Sexual Assault Survivor Advocate. The advocate will provide direct support to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support. Responsibilities include accompanying survivors to hospitals, police stations, and court proceedings, as well as connecting clients to community resources such as legal assistance, counseling, and housing. The advocate will also be actively involved in community education and outreach initiatives to foster awareness, prevention, and support for survivors. Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity Ability to provide crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy for individuals affected by sexual violence Experience in community outreach, education, or prevention programming related to social services Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases and tasks simultaneously Proficiency in English; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and the ability to maintain confidentiality Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field is preferred or a combination of experience and education Previous experience working in a support or advocate role within domestic or sexual violence services is a plus Seniority level
