About Compass Intervention Center Compass Intervention Center has been providing psychiatric services in Memphis, Tennessee for 29 years. The 108‑bed, free‑standing facility treats children and teens, ages 12 to 17, for residential and acute programs; ages 10 to 17 for outpatient programs struggling with psychiatric, substance abuse, or dual‑diagnosis disorders. It is the only TRICARE®‑certified residential treatment facility in Memphis, Tennessee. The center offers age‑specific programs to address psychiatric illnesses, behavioral problems, and substance abuse issues, focusing on youth and families to improve relationships and achieve positive outcomes.

Job Summary The Business Development – Account Manager is the liaison between the facility, community, and referring agencies. The role creates demand for the facility’s services through ethical marketing and sales methods, presents a positive professional image of the facility, and implements the strategic sales plan to enhance the brand and achieve business development goals. Hours are variable and may include day, evening, and weekend work as directed by the Director of Business Development.

Account Management Responsibilities

Demonstrate and implement Sales Excellence and Service Recovery standards.

Act as liaison between the facility and referral sources, implementing service‑oriented action plans responsive to referral source needs, serving as a community representative, and conducting facility tours for key stakeholders.

Attend and actively participate in Business Development team meetings, providing marketing reports, updates, and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field required (experience may be considered case‑by‑case).

Experience : Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral health setting preferred, with at least three years documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships.

Licensure/Certification : Valid driver’s license required.

Knowledge : Familiarity with the Memphis/Shelby County behavioral health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets, referral sources, and age‑specific programming. Proficiency in business development concepts, sales abilities, computer usage, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional skills: marketing and sales principle application, creativity, flexibility, data collection and analysis, deadline adherence, customer service, and willingness to travel (including overnight).
