Job Location: Houston, Texas (US-TX)
Training and Responsibilities As a sales trainee, you will learn industry products, product finance and insurance options, funeral services, and cemetery/mausoleum property. You will develop skills in customer relationship management and proprietary contracting software, complete coursework, pass exams and demonstrate required competencies to begin fulfilling the following responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
Develop trusting relationships with prospective and existing client families to generate sales leads. Enter contact information into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Contact prospective clients and schedule sales appointments, including evenings and weekends.
Use listening and empathy skills to guide clients through the pre‑planning process, selecting services and property that meet their needs. Present property features, insurance product benefits, and complete accurate contracts.
Utilize CRM software to source leads from campaigns, prospective clients and prior client sales to develop a sales pipeline.
Collaborate with the Funeral Director and client families on pre‑need property or mausoleum sales, coordinating efforts with team members and other departments as appropriate.
Seek manager coaching to improve sales cycle, techniques, software proficiency and product knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses
Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance license as required by state/province
Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Experience
Sales or customer experience preferred
Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Proficient in CRM and social networking applications preferred
Professional demeanor and communication skills
Bilingual or knowledge of another language preferred
Professional attire required when meeting with clients or representing the company
Available to work evenings and weekends
Compensation $50,000 to $100,000 targeted compensation (with higher earnings potential based on exceptional performance).
