at Walnut Grove Correctional Facility in Walnut Grove, MS.

Position Summary The Behavioral Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Behavioral Health Unit to provide a proactive and collaborative approach in serving the patient population.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a Master's level program or higher
Prior employment in a clinician/counselor/social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent preferred
Must have a substance use certification (e.g., CADC, CAADC) or be actively working toward one and obtain it within two years of hire
Individuals not certified must be under the direct supervision of a certified clinical supervisor with written documentation of supervision
Essential Functions
Provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and ongoing evaluations, and give consultation to in‑house and community services
Participate in monthly behavioral health calls and collaborate with the medical team to determine overall treatment for each individual
Perform risk assessment of inmates; coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and discharge planning
Assist in planning and implementing goals and objectives of programs and projects, and prepare necessary documentation, records, and reports
Utilize clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs, crisis management, and brief interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing
Demonstrate excellent and timely documentation skills
Make independent clinical decisions while seeking assistance and supervisory intervention as needed
