Position Summary
The Preschool Teacher at Rock Church & Academy's Early Education Center embodies a commitment to nurturing children and fostering strong family relationships while integrating Christian values into daily lessons. This full-time, twelve‑month role focuses on implementing an age‑appropriate curriculum that aligns with our school philosophy, emphasizing the holistic development of each child within a loving Christian environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement curriculum plans in collaboration with the director and fellow teachers.
Provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment that complies with state licensing standards.
Conduct daily activities that promote spiritual, educational, social, and emotional growth.
Maintain constant supervision of children and ensure their health and safety at all times.
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and communication with families.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance Early Childhood Education knowledge.
Spiritual
Has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Regularly attends Rock Church or a church of like faith and is actively involved in church activities.
Believes that the Bible is God's Word and the standard for faith and daily living.
Embodies Christian principles and serves as a role model in speech, conduct, and interactions.
Education & Experience
Must have one of the following:
Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field.
Completed a minimum of 15 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, along with at least one year experience working with children in a licensed child‑care facility.
An AA degree with at least 15 units in the field of Early Childhood Education, along with at least one year experience working with children in a licensed child‑care facility.
A valid Children's Center Permit issued by the California Commission for Teaching Preparation and Licensing, along with at least one year experience working with children in a licensed child‑care facility.
Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
Skills and Competencies
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and provide excellent customer service.
Emotional maturity and stability, with genuine enthusiasm for working with children.
Effective communication skills with children, families, and colleagues.
Non‑negotiables
Adherence to Title 22 state licensing regulations and teacher‑to‑child ratios.
Commitment to constant supervision and maintaining a safe learning environment.
Respect for leadership and adherence to school policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 50 pounds and engage in physical activities with children.
Agility to move comfortably around and interact at children's eye level.
Environmental Conditions
Work in a lively and occasionally noisy environment with children.
Mental Demands
Ability to handle multiple tasks and respond to emergencies calmly and sensitively.
