Environmental & Employee Safety Specialist

to join our team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The

Environmental & Employee Safety Specialist

will serve as the primary point of contact for safety initiatives, training and incident management, helping us maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain workplace safety policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and other applicable regulations. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections and risk assessments. Monitoring and staying updated on safety regulations, codes and standards applicable to the industry. Report workplace injuries to the insurance company and document in HRIS System (Paycom). Investigate workplace incidents (and near-misses), prepare reports and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees. Maintain accurate safety records, certifications and compliance documentation. Lead emergency preparedness planning and conduct drills. Collaborate with HR, operations and leadership to promote a culture of safety. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with external organizations, such as government bodies, safety organizations and insurance companies. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies, plans and procedures and adjust as needed. Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters. Benefits

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field (or equivalent experience) required. 2-5 years of experience in safety administration, compliance or risk management required. Knowledge of OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements. Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Preferred certifications: CSP, CHST and/or OSHA certifications. Manufacturing safety experience is a plus. Work Conditions

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
