Overview
Supervise nursing staff and dialysis technicians during treatment sessions. Coordinate patient care plans with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams. Monitor patient vitals and responses during dialysis procedures. Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of dialysis equipment. Administer medications and assess vascular access sites. Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures and kidney health. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records. Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot complications during treatment. Enforce infection control and safety protocols. Mentor new staff and support ongoing training initiatives. Work as a dialysis RN as needed to meet patient-to-nurse ratios on treatment floor. Assist Facility Administrator with Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement. Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the department.
