Position Summary The Breast Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality breast ultrasound exams and assists with breast ultrasound procedures in compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards. This role works collaboratively with radiologists to assist in the evaluation and diagnosis of breast tissue abnormalities while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Shift Details M - Th / 7a - 6p

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates ultrasound equipment in accordance with organizational protocols
Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary
Evaluates and presents images to radiologists
Assists radiologist with ultrasound procedures
Prepares exam/procedure rooms and equipment for studies, ensuring cleanliness
Monitors supplies and stock room as needed
Obtains, verifies, and documents all pertinent information for patient visits and procedures, including patient clinical history, prior imaging, orders, and consents
Identifies care requirements relative to each patient’s age‑specific needs
Explains exams and procedures to patients
Provides post‑procedural care information and follow‑up instructions as directed by radiologists
Assists with onboarding and training new diagnostic mammography technologists in ultrasound
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Education/Licensing/Certification
Associate degree
ARDMS
BLS
Experience (years and type)
1‑3 years’ experience in Ultrasound
Knowledge and Skills
Must be able to perform procedures in accordance with the CR departmental protocols and standards
Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role
Must be able to review the patient history for any pertinent information
Must be able to communicate with the radiologist or referring MD if a protocol needs to be obtained or a test needs to be altered
Must be able to report malfunctioning equipment to the ultrasound engineer
Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50‑75 lbs.
Must have positive communication skills
Ability to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to patient capability
Must be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomical or pathological structures and recognize any imaging abnormalities
Travel Required (% of time)
0‑25%
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Full day of walking and standing
Lifting more than 50 lbs.
Full‑time work with varying hours. Weekends if needed to meet the department’s needs.
Must be able to work with bio‑hazardous materials
