Job Summary Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, based on assessments and recommendations from physicians, psychologists, or social workers.

Job Requirements Education

Required: Graduate of a Speech Pathology Program

Preferred: Masters or Doctorate from an accredited Speech Pathology Program

Experience

Required: 5 year experience

Skills

Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills, and organizational skills required

Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required

Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attending continuing education workshops and applying new principles and/or techniques

Must have good communication skills and a positive attitude

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: License of Speech Therapy active in the state of Missouri

Must obtain BLS within 90 days

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be eligible
