Overview As Research & Insights Manager II, you will lead the strategy and operations of our in-house global tracking ecosystem. You will be the primary owner of the process and program management for our tracking tools, working in close collaboration with our Data Science team to build a world-class insights engine. You will create the infrastructure and processes that enable the broader Research & Insights team to extract meaningful signals from large data sets. Beyond program management, you will act as a lead analyst—conducting your own research based on tracking data and connecting the dots between sentiment trends, internal behavioral data, and custom research to influence global decisions across Marketing, Product, and Operations. You will deliver clear, narrative-driven insights to senior leadership across Policy, Marketing, and Product. This role supports both Mobility and Delivery programs."
What You’ll Do
Global Program Management: Own the operational excellence of Uber's global tracking programs (Brand Health, Safety, etc.). Manage processes with Data Science to ensure data quality, consistency, and timely delivery of insights across all markets.
Data Science Collaboration & Infrastructure: Partner with Data Science and teams to optimize tracking tools, define requirements for dashboards and automated reporting pipelines for self-serve critical metrics.
Process Creation & Enablement: Design and implement scalable processes that enable the wider Research team to easily access, analyze, and visualize tracking data. Act as the "power user" to teach others how to leverage these tools effectively.
Synthesis & Strategic Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses, triangulate tracking findings with internal behavioral data and other primary research to provide a holistic view of the user and identify opportunities to influence key initiatives.
Global Stakeholder Impact: Deliver narrative insights to senior leadership across Policy, Marketing, and Product, ensuring tracking programs evolve to answer the most pressing business questions for both Mobility and Delivery.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of work experience in consumer-focused market research, marketing, or consulting
Bachelor degree in market research, statistics, economics or a related field
Demonstrated ability to work with complex datasets and translate business needs into technical requirements; comfortable speaking the language of Data Scientists
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in business, market research, statistics, economics or a related field
Experience using SQL, R or SPSS
Passion for leveraging insights from multiple sources to guide business and marketing strategy
Ability to work in a quick-moving environment and prioritize among projects while maintaining attention to detail
Self-starter with problem-solving attitude to ensure success of research projects
Experience collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders, vendors and teams
Excellent critical thinking, project management, and communication skills
Proficiency in moderating 1:1 interviews and focus groups
Hands-on experience at a research supplier—writing questionnaires and discussion guides, fielding research, etc.
Experience with market research in multiple countries/regions
Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this role varies by location. For New York, NY and San Francisco, CA-based roles: USD 157,000 to USD 174,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other compensation. Various benefits are available.
