The Opportunity
Pipeline Operator at a growth-oriented energy company
Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of pipelines, terminals, and associated equipment.
Key activities include:
Maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair pipeline equipment, associated computer programming, and electrical or electronic control systems
Monitor control systems for indications of system errors or failures including leak detection or pressure fluctuations
Perform periodic inspections and routine maintenance on the pipeline system.
Conduct remote metering and other remote facility operations
Utilize computer applications and specialized programs to test pipeline system functions and maintain accurate records
Monitor and maintain cathodic protection on pipeline system
Conduct required site inspections for safety and general maintenance assessment
Perform tank gauging
Perform product sampling
Perform required valve inspections and maintenance
Perform required tank inspections and maintenance
Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks
Respond to maintenance work orders
Troubleshoot and repair equipment components, as necessary
Schedule and perform required pipeline pigging
Schedule and witness pipeline and rack meter proving
Troubleshoot equipment and enter work orders for required repairs
Communicate with pipeline controllers to maintain efficient, safe operations on the pipeline system
Assist the Pipeline Supervisor with inventory control
Assist the Pipeline Supervisor with carriers and customers
Perform project inspection and complete job books as necessary
Maintain operator qualification for all covered task necessary to perform job duties
Must maintain a working knowledge of regulatory compliance
Must read and follow all applicable company policies and procedures for all job duties to be completed
Carry a personal cell phone and be on call after hours (company cell phone available per policy)
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
Additional qualifications include:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
College coursework, and Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; certifications are a plus
2+ years' experience in pipeline operations and associated equipment preferred
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to work at various heights and in confined spaces
Reach overhead, squat, kneel, climb and grasp
Must have 20/40 vision or better, have depth perception, full field and able to distinguish colors as required to perform duties
The position may be exposed to heat, noise, humidity, altitude, smoke, fumes, dust, gases, hydrocarbons, paints, and solvents
Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, steel toe shoes and respirator use may be required.
On-call, after hours and weekend work required
