Job Description This full‑time opportunity provides comprehensive case management for TriHealth team members in the Workers' Compensation specialty area. The role serves as coordinator, facilitator, educator, administrator, researcher, investigator and consultant. Primary focus is to control/minimize the cost of Workers' Compensation claims while promoting optimal recovery and minimal lost work time for TriHealth team members. This is achieved through coordination of referrals, treatment interventions, return‑to‑work and collaboration with all parties involved.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Healthcare, Nursing or related medical field with knowledge and execution of injury/illness prevention, education and rehabilitation.
1–2 years’ experience in a clinical, nursing or related medical field demonstrating similar knowledge and execution.
Proficiency with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, web browsers) and ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
Computer literate as above.
Knowledge of medical terminology, body systems and impairments.
Work‑case management experience of occupational injuries, including return‑to‑work coordination.
Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation governing entities, OSHA record‑keeping and HIPAA privacy.
Strong customer service, written & verbal communication, organizational skills, critical thinking and ability to work autonomously and in a team.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with managers, team members and Workers' Compensation third‑party partner to coordinate Modified Duty/Return‑to‑Work Program.
Facilitate placements that meet restrictions, monitor progress and promote healing.
Communicate regularly with third‑party partner to monitor claims management – payment, denials, treatment requests, etc.
Collaborate with provider contacts to facilitate timely exchange of documentation, referrals and workability status updates.
Collect, document and evaluate incident/illness information to determine individual needs and plan action for recovery and safe return to work.
Maintain communication with team members, managers, providers and HR.
Identify and track injury/illness trends and costs; provide reports to Occupational, Environmental, Safety and Risk departments.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and implement safety and injury‑prevention education initiatives.
Adhere to all governing entities, employer parameters, guidance, policies, protocols and laws. Follow OSHA record‑keeping and report timely.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy.
Other Related Information Cross‑train with Leave of Absence Disability Case Managers. Special projects as assigned.
Working Conditions Physical activities include climbing (rare), lifting
50 lbs (rare), pushing/pulling (rare), standing (occasionally) and sitting (consistently). Environmental characteristics include concentrating, reading, hearing conversation, visual acuity near/far and walking (occasionally).
