Plasticade , available for 1st or 2nd shift.

Base Pay Range $75,000.00/yr – $85,000.00/yr

1st shift hours: 3:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday – Friday (some weekends required). Training will be on the 1st shift.

2nd shift hours: 11:30 am – 8:30 pm, Monday – Friday (some weekends required). Training will be on the 1st shift.

Seeking candidates open to either shift, ideally both.

Location: Elkhart, IN.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions

Manage a team of press operators and other direct reports through coaching, development, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary actions when necessary; foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment.

Champion a safety‑first culture, enforce EHS policies and OSHA regulations, act as first responder, conduct safety audits, and train staff on protocols.

Drive a zero‑defect mindset, ensure adherence to quality procedures, and support standardization of policies, procedures and work instructions.

Assign production tasks based on needs and individual capabilities; review and approve timecards and time‑off requests; monitor attendance and staffing needs.

Coordinate daily operational activities: troubleshooting, staffing, inventory monitoring, meeting production schedules, and housekeeping to meet customer deadlines and quality standards.

Lead daily/weekly/monthly staff and safety meetings.

Collect and compile production metrics (output, labor utilization, quality, productivity, scrap) and ensure accurate documentation.

Oversee employee training and cross‑training; partner with HR on talent development and workforce planning.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify waste reduction, process standardization, and productivity improvement opportunities; implement Lean strategies to improve cycle time, reduce scrap, and enhance labor efficiency.

Maintain open communication with employees, addressing simple to moderate concerns or conflicts; focus on proactive positive employee relations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Must be mechanically inclined.

High school diploma or equivalent.

5+ years manufacturing experience, including 1+ years of leadership.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; strong collaboration at all organizational levels.

Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) proficiency.

Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, detail orientation, priority setting, and organization.

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Verbal and written fluency in English.

Preferred Knowledge / Skills

3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, operations management).

Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor.

Lean manufacturing, operational excellence, or Lean Six Sigma experience.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Work primarily in non‑climate‑controlled production and warehouse areas with moderate to high noise levels.

Prolonged standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, and/or squatting.

Periods of sitting and computer work at a desk.

Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Potential occasional travel up to 10 %.

The compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s education, skills, and experience.
