- work with clients aged 18-100+. Please note that between December 5th and January 26th the government closes the website for APS training. If you are interested in onboarding as an Adult Peer Support Specialist you may still do so and begin some aspects of the application but be aware that you will not be able to complete the training or submit your application to the Board until January 26th.
Please note that to become a mentor there is a long onboarding process involving training and background checks. Therefore, while this is a paid role, the candidate who will have the most satisfaction from this role is someone who really wants to help people and for whom the extra income is just a nice plus.
Please note if you have seen a listing from ThrYve for a "Mental Health Mentor" in addition to this listing for "Peer Support Specialist", these are two different listings for the
same role , we just decided to list it under two different names so we would attract both experienced PSSs and also people who may not be familiar with the role/terminology of PSS but who have mental health experience and passion and would make good PSSs.
