Role and Location This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This position is onsite daily at either the Alabama or Florida locations. The candidate must reside in or relocate to Blue Origin Site Location and work onsite unless at a supplier.

Responsibilities

Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers regarding quality and technical capability

Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans

Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives

Communicate supplier performance to senior management

Issue supplier corrective action requests and review responses for root cause and repeat defect containment actions

Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions

Focus on nonconformance reduction activities

Qualifications

5+ years' proven experience in a manufacturing field with at least 2 years in a supplier quality engineering or specialist role

Required travel up to 50% of the time and a valid driver's license

Quality assurance experience in an aerospace production environment

Self-initiation and excellent time management dedication

Proficiencies to stay closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely

Passion for Blue Origin's mission and vision is required

Desired

Technical background and experience with one or more of the following aerospace commodities: avionics, electronics, machined parts, composites, assembly practices, valves and fluid controls, castings and forgings, tooling or chemical processing

Experience transitioning a product from development, through production to operations

Proven experience with AS9100 auditing

American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification

Six Sigma Green, Black Belt or comparable certification

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) or GVWR that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs and/or transports hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
