Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers by providing a safe and enjoyable shuttle experience; providing a warm welcome to our guests as they board the vehicle;
Deliver scripted narration to guests with accurate and engaging information about the history of the facilities and local destinations as part of the service utilizing electronic devices;
Safely drive in various environments navigating pedestrian traffic, wildlife, and other motorists in different lighting scenarios & inclement weather in compliance with traffic laws, regulations and company safety standards;
Assist guests with safely boarding and exiting the vehicle; loading and securing wheelchairs, mobility aids such as belts and straps, strollers, and car seats, requiring lifting, bending, and stooping;
Respond promptly and appropriately during emergencies , providing safety announcements to guests and following company protocols to ensure passenger safety and comfort;
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with company and regulatory standards;
Responsible for keeping vehicles clean and presentable at all times;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledgeable in Part 49 Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and State of Alaska DOT regulations
Ability to safely drive a shuttle bus while speaking to passengers, answering questions, and providing narration, while working in a team or group environment;
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees, and management;
Knowledgeable in the importance of DVIRs and pre/post-trips;
Preparedness in safety incidents that may require your assistance;
Knowledge of the critical aspects of your vehicle and upkeep its condition
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
Ability to successfully complete company shuttle training program.
Licenses, Education and Experience:
Medical Examiners Certificate for Commercial Driver Fitness Determination;
Valid Commercial Driver's License: Class B or A, without air brake restrictions and passenger endorsements with minimum driving record;
No major convictions within the last five years, no moving violations within the last three years
Drivers 25 and older: No more than four moving violations or one accident and one violation within the last three years
Drivers 23 or 24 years old: No more than two moving violations within the last three years;
Minimum of one year with appropriate CDL and experience;
Minimum one-year experience safely operating vehicles or machinery equivalent of vehicles having a gross weight of 26,001 pounds or more.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass required DOT drug screening and DOT Clearinghouse query;
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking;
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
