Job Summary MGH Institute of Health Professions is currently hiring an Academic Support Coach for students enrolled in the School of Nursing. The Academic Support Coach will work closely with students to provide guidance and assistance in areas such as time management, study skills, and test‑taking strategies. The coach will also help students develop effective writing and communication skills and provide support for students who are struggling academically. The goal of this position is to help students achieve academic success and reach their full potential as healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized coaching to nursing students on time management, study skills, and test‑taking strategies.

Assist students in developing effective writing and communication skills.

Support students who are academically challenged, helping them implement action plans and monitor progress.

Collaborate with faculty, faculty assistants, and administrative staff to coordinate resources and support services.

Adapt coaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of a student population.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse eligible for licensure in Massachusetts.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field (required).

Strong background in nursing education and experience in academic coaching or tutoring.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Administrative skills: strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to interact with faculty and students, juggle multiple projects, set priorities, and delegate as needed.

Proactive in developing/updating systems to meet administrators’ needs.

Technical skills: computer proficiency, MS Office experience, familiarity with standard office equipment (fax, copiers, multi‑task telephone system).

Pay Range: $62,400.00 – $90,750.40 Annual
