Job Purpose BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results‑driven” individual to join as a Dyno Test Technician. The Dyno Test Technician will be responsible for test execution and dynamometer operation for hybrid & electronic vehicle power electronics products.
Key Responsibilities
Support and execute dynamometer testing for Electrified Vehicles under the direction of engineering – manual and automated
Execute dynamometer setup as needed – including mechanical and electrical installation of test equipment/devices
Collaborate with engineering to review test data gathered from dynamometer operation
Support dyno cell operation, from troubleshooting equipment and maintenance perspectives
Review test specifications for equipment capability
Support and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement actions related to dyno cell operations
Collaborate with overall team to ensure raw test data matches test processes for quality purposes
Power analyzer and test inverter setups – with assistance from Test Technology and Engineering teams
Understand test plans and test schedules, communicating effectively to the overall team when milestones or deliverables are at risk
Work routinely in a hands‑on manner
Be highly aware and adhere to high voltage safety standards and procedures
What We Are Looking For
Associate degree in EET, MET or related engineering technology field required; Bachelor’s preferred
Knowledge of engineering theories related to rotating electric engineering function and ability to apply those theories to a variety of complex situations
Familiarity with automotive Power Electronics products (Inverters, Converters, and Chargers)
Familiarity with electric machine dynamometer equipment for power electronics
Familiarity with oscilloscope and power analyzer instrumentation
Strong problem‑solving skills, multitasking abilities, attention to detail, leadership attributes, and self‑starter attitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Works well in a team environment
Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel)
Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical and product specifications
Experience in testing lab or manufacturing environment (preferred)
Experience with automotive test strategies and methodologies (preferred)
