Summary:
A Lifeguard is to supervise pool patrons and ensure their safety and well-being through the enforcement of the pool rules and regulations. A Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe and clean aquatic facility for the patrons at Sunset & Mill Creek Pools.
Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years old, prior to May 2026.
Ability to swim 200 yards, tread water for 2 minutes, retrieve diving brick from the bottom of 12 feet.
StarGuard Elite certification, or ability to obtain prior to starting work (training provided by the park district).
Job Responsibilities
Watch, direct and safeguard pool patrons in accordance with StarGuard Elite standards.
Assist in keeping the aquatic facility safe, clean and in sanitary condition.
Maintain lifeguard certification by attending weekly in-service trainings.
Assist with special events, rentals, and programs.
Hours/Schedule Working hours may vary, 20-40 hours per week. Flexible scheduling!
Wages: The anticipated starting wage is $16.00 per hour
