# **Job Description Summary & Additional Information****Organizational Summary Statement:**Under general supervision, receives, stores, and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment.Ensures policies, procedures, and assignments are followed. Supervises and trains subordinate personnel. Drives refrigerated delivery trucks in excess of 10,001 pounds but less than 26,000 pounds with product and supplies to various locations on campus.**Preferences:*** Experience working in a large commercial food service operation.* Must be able to work long days up to 14 hours on game day.* Must be able to move perishable food, beverages and supplies, including beer kegs, weighing up to 180 pounds with assistance.* Must be able to work a variable schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays, based on event scheduling with notice of as little as 4 days, due to TV scheduling.* Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.**Licenses/ Certification:*** Must have valid Maryland Driver’s license with less than 5 points.* Must have or obtain TIPS certification (or other alcoholic beverage service awareness certification

approved by the Comptroller of Maryland) within 7 days of hire.* Must have Prince George’s County Maryland Health Department Food Service Manager Certification (or equivalent certification) within 90 day of hire and maintain throughout employment. (Dining Services shall provide training and testing on site for both certifications)* After job offer, but before hire, must pass a DOT physical and Drug Test arranged by the University and be able to maintain the DOT physical certification and pass random drug testing throughout employment to drive a truck.**Physical Demands:**This is an essential position and incumbent must report to work when the campus is closed due to weather or other emergency situations.Must be able to work a variable schedule including weekends, nights, evenings, and holidays. Annual leave will not be granted for specific periods including the weeks preceding and right after the start of each semester, Maryland Day, Family Weekend or special events.Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment with or without accommodation.The University of Maryland is a non-smoking, drug free, weapon free campus.Must be able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis and up to 180 pounds occasionally with assistance and stand, walk and work on feet for long periods of time.Must be able to work in extreme weather, humidity and temperature conditions including regularly working between 40 degrees and 90 degrees for extended periods and, from 15 below zero degrees to 40 degrees and from 90 degrees to 110 degrees for short periods of time.**Required Application Materials:**Application**Posting Close Date:****January 20th**# **Minimum Qualifications**EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.EXPERIENCE: Five years related work experience.OTHER:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment. Skill in operating warehouse material handling equipment; in providing guidance and instruction to others. Ability to perform basic mathematics; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to supervise and train subordinate personnel; to operate computers and other standard office equipment; to establish and maintain effective work relationships; to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing; to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.OTHER:Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job. A non-commercial Class C or Commercial Class B or equivalent driver's license valid in the State of Maryland may be required.
