Overview
American Furniture Rental (AFR)
is looking for a full-time, experienced Truck Driver & Furniture Mover for our location in Phoenix, AZ (16th Street and University). Apply only if you have experience driving a 26-foot box truck. DOT card or ability to obtain prior to hire. Must meet FMCSA qualifications – English Language Proficiency under 49 CFR 391.11. Have a complete, formatted resume. Clean background and driving records. Able to pass DOT Physical test, including pre-employment Drug Testing (12 panels). This is a full-time position with excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance), plus paid vacation, PTO, 401(k) and more.
General Description The Driver/Installer will complete assigned routes for deliveries and pick-ups of merchandise, install according to the floor plan, and assist with shipping and receiving to support the warehouse. Applicable to residential, commercial, special events, and trade show deliveries.
Responsibilities
Operate company vehicles professionally and safely according to DOT rules and regulations.
Performs daily maintenance checks (DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections) and reports malfunctions.
Deliver, install, and pickup merchandise in a timely manner with attention to detail.
Fill delivery orders and complete appropriate paperwork.
Protect products using pads, coverages, and materials supplied by AFR.
Read and complete all delivery paperwork; ensure correct merchandise per invoices.
Maintain and report on the toolkit provided by AFR.
Confirm with clients that items are in good condition; obtain signatures on delivery documents.
Inspect facilities for damage prior to installation or pickup; document with photos and notify management.
Inspect items on pickup for damage or missing items; photograph and report to management before loading.
Relay customer messages to management; maintain a neat and clean workplace.
Assist with stocking in shipping/receiving; help move and place cartons on shelves.
Receive floorplans and instruct/execute delivery with helpers.
Wear AFR-issued uniform during work hours.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
Organization and time management skills.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service and problem-solving oriented.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Ability to use basic tools (screwdriver, cordless drills, hammers, etc.).
Basic math, organization, and reading skills.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Languages: English and Spanish preferred (verbal and written)
Experience
At least six months of experience in a similar industry; warehousing and inventory knowledge from a delivery company or similar.
Must be able to operate a 26' box truck.
Certifications/Licenses
Valid Driver's license (no points/violations in the past twelve months; must meet insurance requirements).
Ability to pass DOT Physical and pre-employment drug testing.
Background check required.
Physical and Mental Qualifications
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds; physically active for extended periods.
Driver/Installer will adhere to DOT regulations.
