Responsibilities
Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property.
First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
Responsible for the safe de‑escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety where carrying a firearm in the regular course of duty is required, or equivalent training and experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Must pass pre‑employment psychological screening.
Must pass and maintain all required training, including certifications in Firearms, Taser CEW, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
Carry non‑lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
