About the Role This role involves cleaning and servicing guest, patient, public, clinical and administrative areas. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and aseptic environment, operating environmental services equipment, and adhering to Joint Commission / CMS regulations.
Responsibilities
Maintains designated area in a clean and aseptic manner.
Maintains environmental closet and equipment in a clean, aseptic and orderly manner.
Assists with restocking of cafe and bar (where necessary).
Assists with special cleaning projects and room turnover.
Follows all current Joint Commission / CMS regulations pertaining to Environment of Care and cleaning requirements.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education: None required; ability to read, write, speak and understand verbal communication in English.
Work Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; required experience operating environmental services equipment (dust mop, wet mop, bucket and wringer, spray bottles, dustpan).
Preferred: 1 year relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills; basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning equipment and supplies; flexible schedule; ability to listen, take direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Physical & Environmental Demands Heavy work involves occasionally exerting 50–100 pounds of force or repeatedly 25–50 pounds of force. Must handle chemicals (acidic and alkaline) and be prepared for exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues and communicable diseases. Use mechanical lifting devices or team lifts as required. Must work in patient care areas and understand occupational risk for hazardous medications or waste.
