Job Summary Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, pre‑packed deli, rotisserie chicken and full service deli. Assists in meat selection and creates special meat arrangements for members. Maintains sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.

Key Responsibilities

Engage and assist members with recommendations and queries regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.

Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members.

Cut, grind, and process fresh meats to company cutting standards. Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.

Showcase meat cases with current products and maintain proper inventory levels.

Stock and rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates; dispose of damaged/expired products following guidelines.

Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.

Inspect and store meat upon delivery; ensure received meats meet or exceed quality standards.

Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses into cooler and freezer.

Maintain all club policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned, including placing orders and working in other departments if needed.

Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Qualifications

Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.

Previous meat cutting experience required.

Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.

At least 18 years of age.

Environmental Job Conditions

Work primarily on hard surfaces; may need to bend, reach, stoop, or lift objects up to 30 pounds; sometimes heavier loads with assistance.

Located in a cooler area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises, and cleaning agents.

In accordance with pay transparency requirements, this position starts at $19.75 per hour. Actual salaries will vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications.
