The City of Huntsville Parks & Recreation Department seeks qualified applicants to fill our Aquatic Instructor position(s). Our department provides recreation opportunities for all citizens, with two public indoor swimming facilities.
Responsibilities
Teach and conduct a variety of swimming classes and lessons.
Supervise regular swimming activities.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of the pool and equipment.
Qualifications and Required Certifications
Proof of enrollment in a college program, high school diploma, or GED certificate from an accredited institution.
Experience as a qualified lifeguard and instructor at a large public swimming pool or aquatic facility.
Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification – must obtain within 11 months of hire date.
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate.
Certified Pool/Spa Operator Certificate.
Applicants may obtain a copy of the City of Huntsville's EEOP Short Form upon request.
