Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery
Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet state and district standards, ensuring all students are actively engaged in learning.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology tools to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
Continuously assess student understanding and adjust teaching methods to improve outcomes.
Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and fellow teachers to enhance curriculum alignment and instructional practices.
Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
Regularly assess and analyze student performance through formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports.
Use data to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions as needed.
Work with various stakeholders to ensure students' individual needs are met.
Classroom Management and Student Engagement
Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel respected and motivated to succeed.
Manage, supervise and ensure the safety, behavior, and well-being of students.
Implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning time.
Foster students' social-emotional development by integrating trauma-informed practices and restorative justice approaches.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, and necessary stakeholders to address behavior concerns and support student growth.
Professional Development and School Collaboration
Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your craft and stay up to date on educational best practices.
Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and collaborate with school staff on projects that support student achievement.
Attend faculty meetings, workshops, family engagement events and parent-teacher conferences as required.
Serve on school committees and contribute to creating a positive school climate.
Qualifications To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Minimum Requirements)
Bring Expertise and Vision:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for certification
Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management
Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments
Preferred Qualifications
Innovative Thinking:
Proven ability to differentiate instruction for students with diverse needs
Ability to use technology to enhance student learning and engagement
Experience with curriculum development and designing innovative lessons
Leadership with Impact:
